Dr K N Lim is an experienced business strategist, entrepreneur, bureaucrat and academic.

Migration and international business experience in government
Dr Lim is an experienced committee member of an Australian state government’s skill and business migration unit. The migration unit determines the types of skill, business and investor migrants the government would sponsor.
Dr Lim is also very experienced in international trade policy development in the government. In this role, he formulated international trade policies that developed businesses international competitiveness and skills.
As an experienced bureaucrat in migration and international trade, Dr Lim’s exceptional knowledge in the bureaucracy ensures that the formalities and government’s concerns for sponsorship are properly addressed.
Business experience
Dr Lim has over thirty years of international business experience in diverse roles. This includes senior management in Dutch, British and Danish multinational corporations, and large and small family owned business. In these roles, Dr Lim provided “change” leadership in enhancing profitability and international competitiveness.
As an entrepreneur for over fifteen years, Dr Lim has established several successful businesses. The businesses he had created included consultancies in industrial safety and hygiene, organisational, human resource and marketing; international marketing of automotive and industrial safety products; and design and manufacturing of garments.
In 2000, Dr Lim was approached by PricewaterhouseCoopers for international trade policy role in a state government in Australia. He had since called Australia home.
Academic
Dr Lim undertook his PhD research at Southern Cross University, Australia. His PhD studied the fundamentals of international business strategies and franchising. The thesis revealed factors that correlated with the superior performance of businesses in an international context. A number of international business models for superior performance were developed.
Dr Lim’s MBA focused on international business and marketing. He is a Chartered Marketer, the highest professional qualification in marketing awarded by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). CIM is the world’s largest professional peak body for marketers. Dr Lim is a recent MIT/Cambridge University Enterpriser scholar. He is a sessional academic in Queensland University of Technology. He is also an associate of the Griffith University’s Asia Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence. Dr Lim’s migration skills are supplemented by a postgraduate qualification in Australian Migration Law and Practice from The Australian National University. In addition, Dr Lim diligently undertakes continuing professional development to maintain the currency of his knowledge in Australian migration law and practice.
